Position Overview

Lighthill is seeking an ambitious International Trade Analyst, also known as our "Trade Whisperer" ready to make a significant impact at our new firm. This role is for someone eager to grow with our firm and make substantial contributions to our trade practice. The position involves supporting the firm in establishing best practices, serving clients, and monitoring various trade actions to identify and expand business opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze quantitative and qualitative data in relation to various international trade matters, including AD/CVD proceedings, customs compliance, rules of origin, valuations, tariff classifications, RFIs, and other trade-related matters.

  • Manage large data sets, analyzing trends and identifying trade compliance risks.

  • Conduct risk audits to ensure compliance with various trade laws, including forced labor and AD/CVD.

  • Collaborate within a team setting to manage and streamline processes under the company's innovative "core four" work structure.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree; preferably in Economics, Finance, Accounting, or Mathematics.

  • 2-5 years of experience in international trade at a law firm or federal government agency (e.g., Department of Commerce, ITC, CBP).

  • Familiarity with customs, AD/CVD, EAR/ITAR, or other trade regulations.

  • Openness to handle various trade matters, with a strong inclination towards trade remedies and customs.

  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to manage both quantitative and qualitative data effectively.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication and teamwork skills.

  • Proactive and self-motivated, with interest in personal and professional growth.

  • Advanced proficiency with current Microsoft Office and analytics programs, including Excel.

Preferred Experience/Skills

  • Experience with AD/CVD cases at the Department of Commerce is highly desirable.

  • Experience at other federal government agencies (e.g., ITC or CBP) working on international trade matters.

  • U.S. Customs brokerage license, CCS, CGBP, or CUSECO certification.

  • Background in Economics, Finance, Accounting or Mathematics.

  • Proficiency in additional languages.
